What are the requirements?
High school diploma minimum.  (Level of education determines rate of pay.)

What are the sub rates per day?
Sub rates are paid in accordance to their educational level and assignment.

High School Diploma:  $75/Day
Associate's Degree:  $85/Day
Bachelor's Degree:  $95/Day
Texas Certified Teacher:  $105/Day
(Long Term) Non-Certified:  $120/Day*
(Long Term) Texas Certified:  $150/Day*
* Long-term rates apply to those serving in a singular teaching position for more than 10 consecutive days.

When can I apply?
Sealy ISD hires substitute teachers in cycles called round-ups.   Round-up dates will be posted periodically on our website and Facebook page.

What does the round-up consist of?
The round-up consists of an interview with the HR director or administrator followed by a core content assessment.  The process takes about an hour.  

What kind of training is provided once I am hired?
A half-day training will take place after the round-up has been completed.  All round-up new hires are required to attend the training.  Training consists of:  navigation and understanding of AESOP; overview of the district's policies and procedures; tips and methods for classroom management and instruction; job expectations; and tour of all Sealy ISD campuses.
