Parent / Caretaker Checklist:
School Safety is in the forefront of the minds of parents, students, and school personnel. Just as parents should expect that the schools will do what is necessary to keep students safe, schools need parents to do their part, as well. Sealy ISD is asking all parents, grandparents, and anyone else who is regularly in the company of children to commit to the practices in this brief check list. They are the very first line of defense for the safety of our children and our schools.

See Something – Say Something: Teach your children to tell someone if they hear or see something that could potentially lead to a dangerous situation. The graphic is on campus websites and has a link that will allow you to report an incident or concern. Remember, you don’t have to be absolutely certain there is a problem in order to make a report. School administration will follow up and determine if there is an issue and how to best address it. Parents and students are encouraged to use this if they hear or see anything concerning in nature.

If your child is experiencing depression, anxiety, mental health issues, or trauma of any sort, speak with the school counselor. We are here to help, not judge.

Most importantly, keep all firearms locked, unloaded, and out of reach of school aged children. (Texas Penal Code 46.13) This is the simplest and most effective way of making sure that guns don’t end up in our schools.
