Curriculum & Instruction

WE CREATE ENGAGED STUDENTS
In Sealy ISD our Mission is to "Create engaged students, with a global perspective on opportunity, fully prepared to realize their highest ambitions". As such, we have teachers and leaders dedicated to continuously improving the quality of students' learning experiences. Our curriculum has been locally developed through the collective research and review of our teams of teachers.

We rely on state standards, research-based practices, and data to drive our lesson planning processes. We regularly invest in the development of our instructional strategies to provide authentic learning opportunities to students so that each child is challenged and supported.

WITH A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE ON OPPORTUNITY
For the 2016-2017 school year Sealy ISD will continue our global outreach efforts in partnership with Texas Tech University. Over the last two years our students have connected with 27 different states and/or countries and have participated in outreach endeavors including donations for impoverished countries as part of the Heifer International Read to Feed Project and shoes for those in Uganda as part of the Soles for Hope Project.

FULLY PREPARED TO REALIZE THEIR HIGHEST AMBITIONS
Additionally, as a district we have pursued expansion of our academic programs including avenues to further career certifications and college credit, implementation of the Project Lead the Way Engineering Program in grades 7-12, expansion of our Dual Language Development Program, and support of early learning through our full-day, open-enrollment prekindergarten program, quarterly professional learning workshops for all childcare providers in the community, and in 2016 SISD will lead the annual conference for Austin, Colorado, and Washington County Early Childhood Educators.
